Why You Need New Orleans Health Coach Nancy Adams

Many of you are unfamiliar with health coaching. You might be skeptical if you can get real results. You may also wonder if you are choosing the right person to be your health coach.

First, scientific studies have validated the benefits of health coaching. Many of you have an idea of how to eat, that you should exercise, and so on. But the problem for most of us is that we can’t keep to our resolutions. Life happens and we eat junk and sit on the couch. Other people are confused about contradictory health recommendations. New stories in the media every week tell you to eat this but not that or take this but not that. I’m a health coach and I can help you find what works for you.

I’ll tap into your inner motivation to help you make lasting changes. I’ll first listen to your story. You’ll share your personal health history and concerns. Then, I’ll help you create a wellness vision. You’ll imagine your healthy future life and all its benefits. Then the two of us will create a plan. The plan is driven by you, based on your priorities. We’ll brainstorm for some easy, doable steps in the right direction. You’ll choose steps that resonate with your lifestyle.  Then you’ll try them and check back in with me.

For example, suppose a 45 year old woman who is slightly overweight, has trouble sleeping, and has a stressful job while raising children, contacts me. I would ask her about her history and she would tell me when her weight gain first started, and she would describe the details of her sleeping issues. She would let me know if she had past illnesses or chronic conditions. I would ask about her family life and typical routine. Many people complain that their doctors do not have time to listen. I have all the time needed to listen to your story.

The next step for this woman is to describe what her healthy life would look like. Maybe she wants to travel or go wilderness hiking. Maybe she wants to be able to keep up with her active children. Once we have the vision described, we can figure out how to get there. We start with her priorities. Maybe she thinks that if she could just get a good night sleep she would be calmer and eat better. So, we will explore ways of maximizing the possibility of sleeping well. If she wants me to, I can share sleep info and even provide resources. Now the woman can pick a strategy that fits into her routines. The next time we talk, we’ll check on her progress and challenges.

There is a saying in health coaching: Small hinges swing big doors. When the client takes a small step in improving her choices, her other lifestyle choices tend to improve, and overall health improves.

If you are considering health coaching, try a free introductory 15 minute phone call. You’ll tell me a brief history and we’ll get to know each other. Now you’ll have an idea of what I am like and if we can work together.

If you are still unsure after the 15 minute session, you won’t need to pay until after your first session. I sell sessions in packages because that works best. Habits take time to solidify. So you can buy a package of five sessions, which is the same cost as four single sessions. That means your first session is free. So you won’t send a check (or Venmo) until after the first session, once you know that we can work together.

So go to the “Book” page on my website and fill out the Contact Form and the New Client Forms. Then I will set up a time with you for your free phone call.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
